Training
The KEMPER SYSTEM ACADEMY Training Programmes have been developed to give candidates an understanding of our roofing, waterproofing and surfacing systems and correct installation and application techniques.
Authorised Contractors installing KEMPEROL or KEMPER SYSTEM supplied products, or contractors who wish to become authorised installers, must attend training courses held at our training centre in Warrington and then receive additional on-site training and guidance.
Training options
1. Specific System or Product Training
Training is available to all Authorised Contractors on all of the liquid roofing, waterproofing and surfacing systems that are supplied by KEMPER SYSTEM in the UK and Eire.
Authorised Contractors should undertake supplementary training whenever new products or systems are introduced. Please contact our Technical Department for more information.
2. Site Based Training
Site-based support will be provided to Authorised Contractors to help apply the training room based knowledge already gained into the field on a live project.
3. BCP - Basic Competency Programme
This 2 day course, held at Kemper House, includes practical and classroom based training and covers everything from health and safety to roof design and project planning.
Our BCP course is open to contractors who are currently not authorised to install KEMPER SYSTEM products, but would like to achieve the qualification.
Basic Competency Programme (BCP) Training Course
Our BCP training course has been approved by the LRWA (Liquid Roofing & Waterproofing Association) and is the first step to a Level 2 NVQ in Roofing. Once you have completed our BCP and passed the CSCS Working at Heights, Health, Safety and Environment test, you can apply for the red ‘Experienced Worker’ CSCS card that is valid for three years. Each successful trainee will receive a BCP Certificate with their unique BCP number.
The BCP course consists of eight modules covering:
- An introduction to KEMPER SYSTEM
- Liquid roofing and waterproofing systems
- Substrates
- Preparation and priming
- Detailing
- Repair and maintenance
- Stratex warm roof systems
- Safety
There will breakout sessions throughout the 2 days where practical workshops will be carried out. This will allow trainees to work with the products and apply the waterproofing systems to a variety of substrates.
The course is held at Kemper House and starts at 9.30am each day and runs until 4.30pm.
We recommend that you book accommodation following the first day of training (see back page for details of nearest accommodation).
Blue ‘Skilled Worker’ CSCS Card
Once you have achieved the red ‘Experienced Worker’ card, this then allows you plenty of time to go on and obtain the NVQ that you will need in order to qualify for a blue ‘Skilled Worker’ CSCS card. See back page for guidance on how this can be achieved.
